In a time of uncertainty people need clothes to rely on and blend into their clothing. In this collection I strove to design and create clothing that fulfills this bill, the everdaywear and the special occasion. To do so I created a focus group of people that bridged the gap between muse, of "The Self Made" and my audience. I analyzed the needs of these people then took to design to see how I could improve this. I defined my muse of the self made as those who both have individually been successful in their respective careers and also those who I deemed have steered away from the beaten path, even if not technically self made, to create a new name for themselves. In this process I found Frank Lloyd Wright and his design philosophy to be of great inspiration and wanted to experiment with how his sharp clean lines working with nature could translate to clothing on the body. How can clothing be both functional, working with the body, but also beautiful and architectural?
