My grandfather was the first person in my family to go to college - he chose art school. Despite all the discouragement from his family he stuck it through. After graduation he quickly secured a position as an illustrator for a Cleveland newspaper. One of the main influences on my life and art career, he continues to be a very active artist and nature lover, whom I much adore. I wanted this piece to feel like a collaboration between both my grandfather and I’s work as well as art styles. The scarves bridge the gap between our backgrounds in fine art and fashion, each scarf featuring digitized copies of his newspaper illustrations.
